Autism Awareness week

This week at Heworth Hall the students have been learning about what it is like to be autistic. They had the opportunity to discuss what they had learned and how they could further  raise awareness of autism. We are going to follow this up by asking all staff and students at Heworth Hall to make a commitment to making a change to help autistic people.

Why not join us in making a commitment:  Where will you make a change for autistic people?

On Friday we held a coffee and cake drop in session for parents/carers. This was an opportunity to meet each other and just chat! It was such a success that we are going to make it a monthly event where we can meet up and chat over coffee and cake.

The next coffee and cake will be on 5th May at 11.30am – 12.30pm. It will be at the Heworth Hall Centre, but it is open to parents/carers of students from all of our centres. There is no specific focus for the next session, just the chance to chat and share experiences over a cup of coffee and a slice of cake.

For more information contact Alex Frazer at Heworth Hall on 0191 4380111.

We look forward to seeing you there!
